Historic Bank Street in Decatur, Alabama, continues to draw new businesses and investments as revitalization efforts of the area continue to grow. Stogie Holdings, LLC, of Nashville, TN, recently purchased the building at 609 Bank Street NE and will open a Decatur office in the space in early autumn.

Major renovations on the 5,000-square-foot building this summer – including gutting and rebuilding the interior, a new roof, new mechanical systems, and repointing the exterior brick – will provide a fresh appearance to the block and add to the dynamic energy level building on the street.

Steve Armistead and Yogi Dougher, partners in Stogie Holdings, wanted to open a new Decatur office near their local development projects. The first project is centered on McGhee Square off Bank Street through Decatur Urban Ventures. In addition to Stogie Holdings, businesses affiliated with the projects also may rent space at 609 Bank. Principal Yogi Dougher said, “We are very hands-on with our development projects and there is a huge advantage for us and our teams to be literally across the street from the building site. We’ve already had interest from several groups about our new space and the overall potential of Bank Street and Decatur. I would not be surprised to see more residential options, an urban market, and restaurants along Bank Street in the very near future. Decatur is an ideal market for growth and we are excited to be a catalyst for positive change in Steve’s hometown.”
